Privacy Policy Statement.
A1 Holiday Promotions Pty. Ltd trading as Ausrates and A1 Holidays and all
associated Web sites [www.a1holidays.com.au and www.ausrates.com.au] adhere
to the current Australian Government Privacy Act [“Privacy Act 1988 Act
No. 119 of 1988 as amended”] in relation to the information that you
as a client has exchanged in the utilization of any of our services
“Statement Terminology”:
“Client”:
A person, group or organization to whom goods or services are
provided and sold through the use of products and or Internet applications provided
by A1 Holiday Promotions Pty. Ltd trading as Ausrates and A1 Holidays and all associated Web
sites [www.a1holidays.com.au and www.ausrates.com.au]
“Credit Card”:
Credit Card means any article of a kind commonly known as a
credit card, charge card or any similar article intended for use in obtaining
cash, goods or services by means of loans, and includes any article of a kind
commonly issued by persons carrying on business to customers or prospective
customers of those persons for use in obtaining goods or services from those
persons by means of loans.
“Complaint”:
Complaint means a complaint about an act or practice that,
if established, would be an interference with the privacy of the complainant
because it breached a National Privacy Principle.
“Personal Information”:
Personal information means information or an opinion (including
information or an opinion forming part of a database), whether true or not,
and whether recorded in a material form or not, about an individual whose identity
is apparent, or can reasonably be ascertained, from the information or opinion.
“Privacy Code”:
Privacy code means a written code regulating acts and practices that affect
privacy. [“Privacy Act 1988 Act No. 119 of 1988 as amended.
“Record means”:
(a) a document; or
(b) a database (however kept); or
(c) a photograph or other pictorial representation of a person;
but does not include:
(d) a generally available publication; or
(e) anything kept in a library, art gallery or museum for the purposes
of reference, study or exhibition; or
(f) Commonwealth records as defined by subsection 3(1) of the Archives
Act 1983 that are in the open access period for the purposes of that Act; or
(fa) records (as defined in the Archives Act 1983) in the custody of
the Archives (as defined in that Act) in relation to which the Archives has
entered into arrangements with a person other than a Commonwealth institution
(as defined in that Act) providing for the extent to which the Archives or other
persons are to have access to the records; or
(g) documents placed by or on behalf of a person (other than an agency)
in the memorial collection within the meaning of the Australian War Memorial
Act 1980; or
(h) letters or other articles in the course of transmission by post.
“Organisation means”:
(a) an individual; or
(b) a body corporate; or
(c) a partnership; or
(d) any other unincorporated association; or
(e) a trust; that is not a small business operator, a registered political
party, an agency, a State or Territory authority or a prescribed instrumentality
of a State or Territory.
“What is a small business operator”?
(3) A small business operator is an individual, body corporate, partnership,
unincorporated association or trust that:
(a) carries on one or more small businesses; and
(b) does not carry on a business that is not a small business.
Entities that are not small business operators
(4) However, an individual, body corporate, partnership, unincorporated
association or trust is not a small business operator if he, she or it:
(a) carries on a business that has had an annual turnover of more than
$3,000,000 for a financial year that has ended after the later of the following:
(i) the time he, she or it started to carry on the business;
(ii) the commencement of this section; or
(b) provides a health service to another individual and holds any health
information except in an employee record; or
(c) discloses personal information about another individual to anyone
else for a benefit, service or advantage; or
(d) provides a benefit, service or advantage to collect personal information
about another individual from anyone else; or
(e) is a contracted service provider for a Commonwealth contract (whether
or not a party to the contract).
Policy Statement.
Collection of private information:
All client information collected using the services provided by A1 Holiday
Promotions. Pty. Ltd. and all associated businesses or businesses trading as
or for, will be regarded as private and confidential records of that client
and in no way shall be used for any purpose other than to facilitate you travel
or reservation requirements. Information will not be delivered to any third
party for any reason apart from the requirements, regional laws set forward
by any applicable government department or body, or where the third party is
a requirement of a reservation or booking instigated by the client.
Information records or data collected:
• Names, “given and family”
• Addresses, “residential, postal and business”
• Telephone numbers, “ home, mobile, fax or business”
• Email addresses
• Credit Card information in relation to payment of travel expenses and
reservations.
• Health or medical information that would be required in relation to
a reservation.
Our obligations as an agent:
Under the privacy act A1 Holiday Promotions. Pty. Ltd. and all associated businesses
or businesses trading as or for, are required to gain permission from the client
for the collection of information about that client. Unless otherwise stated
by the client, A1 Holiday Promotions. Pty. Ltd. and all associated businesses
or businesses trading as or for, will assume that the clients consent has been
awarded or given by that client once that information has been supplied in relation
to our products or services.
As an agent we transact with wholesalers and providers to the travel industry,
during these transactions, on the client’s behalf we have a requirement
to forward the clients information with reference to reservations and bookings.
This information is supplied to the second party under the same consent that
you as a client, has provided under this policy statement.
Information, Records or Data usage:
All private and confidential information supplied by a client will only be
used in relation to the client’s requests in accordance with reservations,
bookings, ticketing and hire purposes under the guidelines set forward by that
client.
Changes to client details:
At any time, it is the right of a client to request changes to information
supplied by that client.
Security:
All possible physical, mechanical and electronic security measures have been
implemented to safeguard the information that a client has supplied with our
products and services.
Cookies:
Cookies are small files used by the web server to store information in your
web browser as you navigate a web site. There are two types of cookies that
can be used in web sites, session cookies and persistent cookies.
Persistent cookies remain on your computer after your browsing session is finished,
and have a varying expiry date; while often used to store customised browsing
preferences for a particular web site, they may also be used to track and report
upon your browsing behaviour upon returning to the web site/s that issued them.
The Ausrates and A1 Holidays web sites only uses session cookies; these cookies are only used
for member ‘logged in’/’logged out’ status and purposes
associated with using the web site’s search and booking facilities. These
cookies do not remain after your browsing session at the web site is finished
(they are automatically removed as soon as the browser window is closed).

All complaints and or disputes involving a breech in a client’s privacy
